West Bengal Anganwadi Workers and Assistant Welfare Association protest over various demands in Kharibari

Kharibari, 26th March: Anganwadi workers have alleged non-payment of egg and vegetable bills since December. In response, the West Bengal Anganwadi Workers and Assistant Welfare Association staged a protest outside the Kharibari CDPO office on Wednesday, demanding clearance of dues.

On Wednesday, members of the association surrounded the CDPO office and demonstrated. They claimed that promised smartphones had not been provided, and neither had the incentive and recharge bills been cleared. As a result, a 14-month digital strike is ongoing.

Due to this strike, the workers alleged that payments for eggs and vegetables have been halted since December. The association has warned that if the pending bills are not cleared soon, the supply of eggs and vegetables to all centers will be stopped from April.

In response, CDPO Dawa Dorjey Sherpa stated that the matter has been reported to the District Magistrate and assured that the outstanding bills will be paid soon.
