WB Civil Defense Volunteers Association stages protest in support of 10-point demand

Siliguri, 18th January: The West Bengal Civil Defense Volunteers Association staged a protest in front of the Siliguri SDO office in support of a 10-point demand. The organization members threatened to boycott the polls if their demands are not met soon.

Various demands including 30-days of work a month and government facilities have been made on behalf of the organization.

The members of the organization said that they have worked hard amid the pandemic. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has felicitated them as Corona warriors and announced to give them free vaccines. However, instead of vaccines, they need proper assignments.

Ujjwal Das, district secretary of the Civil Defense Volunteers Association, warned of staging larger demonstrations if their demands are not met soon. 126 members of the organization and their families are likely to boycott the upcoming assembly elections.
