Cooch Behar, 22nd July: Due to incessant rains for the past few days, the water level of the Mansai river has risen alarmingly. Consequently, the Bochabari area in Jorpatki Gram Panchayat under Mathabhanga-1 block is submerged under rainwater.
The locals alleged that the rainwater entered the residential area last night due to an increased water level of the river. They fear if such a situation persists, more than a hundred families will be left stranded and homeless.
In addition to this, the residents of the area are deprived of food and drinking water. Allegedly, the administration has provided no help so far. The locals have desperately appealed for help to the government.
