Siliguri, 05th January: Ward Utsav ‘Unmesh’ of Ward No. 17 under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has commenced with a grand procession. Significantly, the festival is scheduled to continue till the 21st of January.
According to reports, the said procession was carried out from Siliguri College followed by the hoisting of the flag and releasing of balloons and pigeons. Additionally, Kolkata’s traditional hand-drawn rickshaws were a significant attraction of the procession.
During this, Mayor Goutam Deb was accompanied by SMC Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, the Members of Mayor-in-Council (MMIC), Borough Chairman, and councillors of various wards.
