Siliguri, 10th February: The Ward No. 40 Councillor Satyajit Adhikari and the locals submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Sonam Wangdi Bhutia in support of various demands.
Although the state government has allocated money for the developmental work in the city, the Councillor alleged no such works are being executed, due to which, the residents of Ward No. 40 are facing a lot of difficulties. Councillor Satyajit Adhikari made a demand to commence the developmental work at the earliest. The memorandum was handed over in the presence of the SMC opposition leader Ranjan Sarkar.
The Councillor stated that the drainage system of the area is very poor and there is no proper drinking water system. He further stated that the poor people of the area are deprived of the widow’s allowance, old age allowance, and land lease.
