Rajganj, 24th November: The capture of public and personal properties by land mafias has become a menace in the city. Likewise, a wall built right in front of the entrance of Magradangi Shishu Shiksha Kendra (SSK), a primary educational institution, has deeply troubled the people of Rajganj area.
The guardians worry about how their children will go to school once it reopens. They alleged that despite reporting the matter to the BDO one month ago, no appropriate steps have been taken on behalf of the administration.
Reportedly, the Magradangi Shishu Shiksha Kendra under Rajganj’s Panikauri Gram Panchayat was established in the year 2000. The centre was constructed on behalf of the Panchayat Samiti.
Hashi Deb, in-charge of the SSK, said that while the school remains closed due to the pandemic, the faculty is providing mid-day meals every month to the children. The school management also worries regarding the blocked entrance. The matter has been reported to the BDO and official authorities.
Deepak Mandal, a local BJP panchayat member and opposition leader of the gram panchayat, said that the road to the school was about five feet long. The land mafias blocked the road and constructed a wall. Mandal also alleged that despite reporting the matter to the BDO in writing, wall construction work is still being carried out.
On the other hand, Rajganj BDO NC Sherpa said that an investigation was conducted by the DLLRO based on the allegations. It is reported that there was no road particularly allocated to the Shiksha Kendra. However, the Panchayat Samiti has been asked to take the necessary decision at the meeting of the Education Standing Committee.
