Voter caught attempting proxy voting in Siliguri’s Ektiasal, fled from the booth

Siliguri, 19th April: An atmosphere of tension prevailed in Ektiasal area of Dabgram-Fulbari assembly where an individual was caught attempting to cast his vote for second time at a polling booth situated in Ektiasal Tileswari High School during the last hours of voting. However, the said voter managed to flee from the booth.


Reportedly, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Sikha Chatterjee of Dabgram-Fulbari visited the polling station earlier on Friday afternoon. During this, a dispute emerged between the BJP workers and the Trinamool (TMC) workers and slogans were raised. Later, the police and central forces took charge and normalize the situation and dispersed the crowd from the area.

Later, an individual was spotted attempting to enter the polling station for the second time in the same booth.
