Siliguri, 15th June: India’s coronavirus pandemic and lockdown is a rising crisis among the poor. Keeping this in mind, government and private institutions have been coming forward time and again to help them.
On Tuesday, a voluntary organization named ‘Shristi’ extended a helping hand to the transgender community and handed over a month’s ration.
On behalf of the organization, Goutam Goswami said, “Currently, the transgenders of the society are having a hard time earning their living. Hence, we handed over ration to them.”
On the other hand, a trans woman named Sonali said that despite getting official recognition as the third gender, their community is still neglected. She urged all to extend a helping hand towards them in this pandemic situation.
