Siliguri, 29th May: The nation-wide lockdown in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases has made a huge economical impact on the daily wagers and their families.
In view of this, voluntary organization Goonj stepped forward to help them. The organization members made the villagers of Ashighar Panchayat Fokdoibari Nichpara area carry out several developmental works in the locality and in return distributed ration among them.
Organization member Ranbir Talukder stated that for the past few days, similar initiatives have been adopted by them in different village areas. 15 kgs of rice, 2 kgs of pulses, soybean, oil, spices, and other food items were distributed among several poor families today.
