Voluntary organization extends helping hand towards the theatre staff amid COVID-19 crisis

Siliguri, 04th September: Although the nation has entered the fourth-phase of unlock, the movie theatres across the city are still closed as a containment measure. As a result, the employees are living under severe crisis.

Likewise, all cinema halls in the city have been shut down ever since the lockdown was imposed.

Sujan Dey, an employee, stated that it is very much possible to maintain social distance inside the halls in compliance with all government directives. Hence, he urged the government to make arrangements to re-open the cinema halls at the earliest.

Amid this, a voluntary organization extended its helping hand and distributed ration and new garments among many such employees at Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium.

The members of the organization stated that the theatre employees are suffering from financial problems at the moment. Therefore, such an initiative has been taken.
