Siliguri, 01st June: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, voluntary organization Action Aid Organization and Cafe Art o Adda came forward to help the sex workers.
Reportedly, 10 kgs rice, 5 kgs flour, 500 gms oil, 1 kg salt, 1 kg soybean, and biscuits were handed over to around 450 sex workers. Besides, sanitary pads, masks, hand sanitizers and PPE kits were provided to them.
SMC administrator Goutam Deb and BoA member Ranjan Sarkar were present at the distribution programme.
Ananya Mukherjee, co-ordinator of Action Aid Organization, said, ‘Our organization has been working for the society for the last 25 years. With the assistance of Cafe Art o Adda, we are providing food to the needy as well as COVID patients. Today, we provided ration to sex workers’.
