Siliguri, 19th April: Members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad staged a protest at Panitanki More in Siliguri on Saturday, demanding the imposition of President’s rule in West Bengal.
The protesters alleged that Hindus are being selectively targeted in different parts of the state under the guise of protests against the Waqf Act. The organization claimed that the situation necessitates immediate intervention and called for the protection of Hindus.
As part of the protest, the group planned a march from Panitanki More to the SDO Office to submit a memorandum. However, police intervened and stopped the procession before it could proceed. Despite this, a memorandum was later submitted to the SDO by the members.
