Siliguri, 02nd January: Residents of Siliguri are constantly being troubled by the violence of miscreants. In a similar case, a resident of Ward No. 15 beat up two people. After the incident, the two victims lodged complaints at the police station. Meanwhile, the said youth identified as Vikram Das is absconding after the incident. On Monday morning, Bapi Banik, a resident of Sukantnagar, was going to work on his bike from Mangal Pandey Sarani of Ward No. 15. It is alleged that at that time Vikram Das and some others blocked his way. After this, Bapi Banik was assaulted by the miscreants. Bapi Banik said that the assaulter said that he could not go through the locality. After this, a fight arose between the two. After the incident, he lodged a written complaint at Panitanki Out Post.
At the same time, Vikram Das assaulted another person named Amarjeet Paul, a resident of Subhash Pally in front of a lottery shop near Court More at around noon today. On protesting against verbal abuse, Vikram started assaulting Amarjeet. After the incident, Amarjeet lodged a written complaint against Vikram at the Siliguri police station. Amarjeet Paul alleged that apart from beating him fiercely, the accused ran away with the keys to his bike. The accused Vikram Das has been absconding since the incident.
