Siliguri, 07th March: An atmosphere of fear is being witnessed in the entire city regarding the Novel Coronavirus. The Health Department has instructed to conduct awareness campaigns in the Wards and border areas. However, no instruction has been provided to the schools regarding the disease.
Amidst the coronavirus scare, the headteachers and the teachers of the Vidyasagar Primary Government School, located at Burdwan Road, Siliguri, are taking every possible effort to protect the students from the disease. The students wash their hands and eat their lunch under the supervision of the teachers. The school cooks have been provided with a mask, hand gloves, and a special dress.
The Siliguri Municipal Corporation provides special dresses to the cooks who prepare the mid-day meals for the children in all government schools. However, the cooks are rarely seen wearing the dress.
Nonetheless, the cooks, of the Vidyasagar Primary Government School, have been very cautious regarding the health of the students. The headteacher of the school, Sudipto Chakraborty, stated that no instruction has been provided by the Education Department, yet. Therefore, in view of the coronavirus outbreak, awareness campaigns are being launched to protect the children from the disease. A cook from the school stated that caution is being taken regarding the health of the students of the school.
