Malda, 07th March: After the objectionable photos surfaced from Kolkata’s Rabindra Bharati University, the viral video of Malda’s Barlow Girls’ High School students using vulgar expressions has raised concerns and questions regarding the education system.
According to the information, the Barlow Girls’ High School students made a video of them singing one of Rabindranath Tagore’s poetic songs in their school dress. What came as a shock is that the students had replaced the poet’s phrases by vulgar and obscene words. As the video went viral in social media, the Barlow Girls’ High School was surrounded by attacks and accusations. In this context, the school authorities held a meeting with the teachers and faculty members. Meanwhile, the students in the video have also been identified and their parents have been called by the school management.
Deepashree Majumdar, the Headteacher of Barlow Girls’ High School, strongly condemned the incident. She stated that the behavior portrayed by the students will not be tolerated at any cost. She informed that the students in the video have been identified and that their parents have been called to the school. Majumdar maintained that the school management will hold a meeting to discuss the next step regarding the incident.
