VHP’s call for 12-hour Siliguri bandh: Business establishments, markets remained closed

Siliguri, 24th August: In view of the call for a 12-hour bandh, several markets and business establishments could be seen closed in the city. It has to be noted that the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has called for a 12-hour Siliguri Bandh in protest against the killing of a schoolgirl in Siliguri.


As per reports, selective educational institutions also remained closed. Business establishments in Siliguri’s Bidhan Market remained shut down since Thursday morning, including several shops in Seth Srilal Market and Hong Kong Market. In addition, the transport of goods from the regulated market also remained halted. In this regard, the business owners stated that they strongly condemn the incident of the brutal killing of the minor in Siliguri.
