Siliguri, 10th July: In an effort to enhance road safety amidst rising concerns over speeding-related accidents during the monsoon, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police has deployed speed gun technology. This initiative aims to curb speeding violations and promote safer driving habits in the city.
On Wednesday, Jalpai More Traffic Guard conducted an operation near the Tinbatti More flyover as part of the ongoing campaign. Using speed gun devices, traffic police identified and stopped vehicles exceeding speed limits, subsequently issuing fines. Approximately 35 vehicles were penalized during the operation, with fines ranging from Rs 1,000 for private vehicles to Rs 2,000 for taxis.
