Siliguri, 18th June: The vegetable and fruit shops in Siliguri Bidhan Market, starting tomorrow, will once again be shifted to the Mela grounds of Kanchenjunga Stadium as a containment measure.
Two days ago, the Commissioner of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Sonam Wangdi Bhutia and SDO Sumanta Sahay held a meeting at the Siliguri State Guest House and decided to relocate the market in order to avoid overcrowding and maintain social distancing. Following this, the shop construction work commenced in the stadium premises.
As per the reports, the market will start operating from tomorrow and police surveillance will be kept in the area regularly to ensure whether all the government protocols are being followed properly or not.
