Various places in Siliguri renamed, Mayor strikes back at Goutam Deb’s allegations

Siliguri, 12th January: The debate between Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya and Minister Goutam Deb has once again ignited. Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya counter-attacked the allegations put forward by the state Tourism Minister Goutam Deb concerning the recent renaming of various places in the city.
It is to recall that during a recent press conference, Minister Deb had alleged that Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya changed the names of city’s places without seeking permission from the State Government. The Minister further added that the Siliguri Municipal Corporation requires the approval of the State Government to take any such steps.
In view of this, Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya held a press conference today and advised Minister Goutam Deb to pay attention to the crisis his political is undergoing at the moment and to worry about his seat.
