Siliguri, 31st March: Trinamool Congress staged a mass protest at Hasmi Chowk in Siliguri, alleging that the voting rights of many valid citizens in West Bengal have allegedly been deliberately curtailed.
The party claimed that, under a BJP-led scheme, the Election Commission is allegedly removing names from the voter list, undermining the democratic rights of the public.
The protest was attended by Siliguri Mayor and Trinamool candidate Gautam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, several Siliguri Municipal Corporation councillors, and other party leaders.
Alongside the protest, a special legal camp was organized by the Trinamool legal cell to support affected voters and allow them to report their issues.
The party vowed to continue raising the issue and ensure that the electoral rights of citizens are protected.
