Siliguri, 02nd July: West Bengal government has announced a special vaccination drive for mothers of children below 12 years as the state prepares to tackle a possible third wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, vaccination for mothers started at Kanchenjunga Stadium on Friday under the initiative of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The camp was inaugurated by SMC administrator Goutam Deb.
It has been learned that mothers of children below 12 years of age residing in the SMC area will be vaccinated in this camp.
Goutam Deb said that at present, arrangements have been made to vaccinate the mothers of children below 12 years. Vaccination is going on in 11 primary health centres in Siliguri. Later, vaccination will be arranged in every ward.
Apart from Goutam Deb, BoA member Ranjan Sarkar and many others were present at the inaugural event.
