Kharibari, 09th January: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai visited the Indo-Nepal border area of Panitanki in Kharibari on Thursday.
During his visit, the minister held a meeting with the SSB jawans, addressing various issues and discussing their responsibilities. He also toured the border area alongside the SSB personnel.
Rai highlighted the crucial role of the SSB in providing surveillance on the borders shared with the friendly nations of Nepal and Bhutan. He praised their efforts in not only ensuring security but also fostering social work and maintaining relations with local communities.
As part of his visit, the minister interacted with several organizations in the area. He also presented awards to artists from Nepali, Rajbanshi, and tribal communities who showcased cultural performances during the program.
