Union Home Minister likely to visit Bengal in August

State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sukanta Majumdar, while addressing the press in front of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, informed Home Minister Amit Shah’s anticipated arrival to West Bengal in August. However, the schedule is still in flux.


Reportedly, the BJP leader held a meeting with the Home Minister in Delhi and discussed the state of affairs in Bengal on Friday. Majumdar claimed that, during the meeting, the Union Home Minister expressed his wish not to witness further deaths taking place in West Bengal as a result of political violence.
