Siliguri, 16th June: A delegation from the Union Health Ministry held a meeting with the officials of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Assistant Secretaries Sandhya Kabra, Pallab Bhattacharya, Partha Rakshita and Preeti Madan were also present.
As per the report, the central delegation appreciated the active role of NBMCH in controlling Hepatitis. They added that in the coming days, steps would be taken to make the hospital an ‘apex hub’. The officials also discussed the testing of samples of various diseases in the medical college.
Medical college professor Arunav Sarkar also discussed how to eradicate hepatitis. He added that there are many state-of-the-art equipments for the super speciality hospital, which has not been used. The issue of using these devices for medical purposes was also raised in the said meeting.
