Siliguri, 18th November: An unidentified woman reportedly died after suddenly falling ill in the waiting room of New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station, creating panic across the station premises.
According to sources, on Tuesday morning during routine checking, GRP personnel found the woman unconscious on the floor. The GRP team immediately arranged for her to be taken to a hospital. However, she was declared dead during preliminary treatment outside the station.
Following the incident, GRP sent the body for post-mortem. Officials said the cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report.
Meanwhile, GRP is examining CCTV footage from the station and surrounding areas to trace the movements of the deceased woman and identify her. The GRP team is continuing a detailed investigation into the matter.
