Siliguri, 06th October: Sensation prevailed after the body of an unidentified person was recovered near the Siliguri Junction area.
According to local sources, the locals spotted the body lying in the forest near Junction’s railway track, this morning, and immediately reported the incident to the police. Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy.
As per primary speculations, the deceased might have travelled to Siliguri from elsewhere as a bag containing several clothes was recovered a few feet away from the scene. Police assume that the man might have been robbed and then murdered.
The police are trying to get information regarding the deceased with the help of CCTV cameras installed around the area. An investigation has been launched into the whole incident.
