Banarhat, 19th March: Sensation prevailed after the body of an unidentified youth was recovered from a river in Gairkata, on Friday morning. The incident created a stir in the entire area.
According to sources, the tea garden workers sighted the body floating in the river, this morning and reported the incident to the Banarhat police.
According to local sources, the body was lying in the Madhubani river that flows through the middle of section 7 of the Manipur line in Gairkata tea garden. Witnesses claimed that the youth had deep bruises on his head.
On the other hand, the body has been sent to Jalpaiguri District Hospital for autopsy and the police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
