Fulbari, 10th July: Sensation spread in the area after an unidentified body was recovered from the Teesta Canal in Fulbari on Thursday morning.
According to local sources, residents spotted a body floating in the canal near Chobabhita while heading from Fulbari to Gajoldoba. The body was reportedly drifting from the Gajoldoba side towards Fulbari.
On being informed, NJP police and an ambulance team rushed to the spot. Since the body was in the middle of the canal, an ambulance worker entered the water to retrieve it.
The body was sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
