Fulbari, 30th April: A sudden rush of people gathered at the Mahananda River in Fulbari on Wednesday morning, turning the riverbank into a hotspot for fishing as the water level unexpectedly dropped.
Since early Wednesday, hundreds of people were seen entering the river to catch fish, taking advantage of the low water level. The reason behind the sudden decrease in the river’s water level remains unclear, but the news quickly spread across nearby areas.
As word of the situation reached surrounding localities, residents flocked to the river, leading to an impromptu competition to catch as many fish as possible. The scene turned into a spontaneous fish-catching frenzy, with people using various tools and methods to gather fish from the shallow waters.
