Uncertainty over Swapna Barman’s candidature in Rajganj AC as nomination filing delayed due to pending NOC

Rajganj, 05th April: Uncertainty looms over the candidature of Swapna Barman in the Rajganj Assembly constituency, as she has been unable to file her nomination papers due to the pending No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Election Commission.

With the deadline for filing nominations set for Monday, doubts remain over whether she will be able to complete the process in time.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that, the outgoing MLA of Rajganj, Khageswar Roy, has already collected the nomination forms and reportedly instructed his legal team to prepare the required documents for submission.

Swapna Barman has temporarily suspended her election campaign, as she had not received the Commission’s NOC until Saturday night.

Sources indicate that if the NOC is not issued within the stipulated timeframe, Khageswar Roy may be fielded as the alternative candidate. The situation has triggered political speculation, although the Trinamool Congress has not yet made any official statement on the matter.
