Siliguri, 11th December: 50-year-old BJP worker Ulen Roy who lost his life during Uttarkanya Abhiyan, is likely to be cremated near his house. Arrangements have already started as per the wishes of the deceased’s father and wife.
Ulen Roy’s relative Kishore Roy said that the family members have been deeply troubled by his death. They want Ulen Roy’s memorial to be built by the pond near their house. A temple will also be built next to the memorial. BJP has started construction of the memorial to fulfil the family’s wish.
As per a family member, Ulen Roy was the breadwinner in the family. He has left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter. Hence, an appeal has been made to provide a job to any one of their family members and also to arrange the academics expenses of Roy’s children. In this regard, the family members stated that they have faith in BJP MPs and leaders.
It is to be noted that BJP activist Ulen Roy lost his life during BJP’s Uttarkanya campaign on December 07. After the incident, BJP alleged that he was shot dead by the police. However, the state police denied all allegations. Meanwhile, the BJP activists filed murder charges against the police on behalf of Ulen Roy’s family.
