Fulbari, 05th December: Two youths lost their lives in separate road accidents on the same night in Fulbari. The incidents occurred late Thursday night on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway at Fulbari’s Battalion More and the Purba Dhantala area.
The deceased have been identified as Sayan Mitra (25) from Uttar Bharat Nagar, Siliguri, and Manoj Barman (24) from Dakshin Kamakhyaguri, Alipurduar district.
According to local sources, the first accident took place around 10:30 p.m. at Fulbari’s Battalion More, where Sayan Mitra sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle crash and died at the spot.
About half an hour later, around 11 p.m., the second accident occurred near Purba Dhantala, adjacent to Fulbari’s Teesta Canal Road, where Manoj Barman also died in a motorcycle accident.
Upon receiving the information, New Jalpaiguri police reached the accident sites, recovered the bodies, and sent them to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for postmortem. The sudden deaths of the two youths have cast a pall of grief over the area. Police are investigating both incidents.
