Kharibari, 05th January: In a crackdown on drug trafficking, Kharibari police arrested two women with brown sugar and a significant amount of cash. The arrested women have been identified as Rajani Giri (30) and Riya Das (29), both residents of Goursingh Jote in Kharibari.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the India-Nepal border in Khariabari’s Goursingh Jote area, where they seized 19 grams of brown sugar and ₹4,70,500 in cash.
The two women were arrested and were presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Sunday. The Kharibari police are further investigating the entire incident.
