Two wild tuskers spotted roaming Salugara market in Siliguri

Siliguri, 04th July: In an unusual sight, two wild tuskers were spotted walking across the Salugara market road in Siliguri on Wednesday night around 1 a.m. The elephants emerged from the forest and wandered through the market area, drawing a crowd of onlookers. Fortunately, the elephants did not cause any disturbance or harm to anyone before eventually returning to the forest.


The Sarugara Forest Department was promptly alerted and dispatched a team to the scene. According to forest department sources, elephants often venture into residential areas in search of food or due to losing their way in the forest. To prevent any potential incidents, the forest department team is maintaining a vigilant watch from night to morning to monitor the movements of the elephants.
