Phansidewa, 03rd September: The Bidhannagar Investigation Center police have seized two tractors laden with sand and stones for illegal extraction from the Mahananda River, violating a green tribunal ban.
Two individuals, Sarwan Mahto from Galgalia, Bihar, and Dinesh Pahan from Bidhannagar, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Reportedly, on Tuesday, police intercepted the tractors in Phansidewa, and the drivers were unable to produce valid documentation for their activities. The arrested individuals were presented in the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court. The Bidhannagar Investigation Center has launched a full investigation into the case.
