Siliguri, 29th August: In a significant development, Siliguri police have arrested two individuals, Dipankar Sarkar and Kartik Karmakar, in connection with a stolen bike.
Reportedly, the bike, belonging to Subir Sarkar, was stolen from in front of a house in Deshbandhu Para on August 24 at around 8:30 pm. A complaint was filed at Siliguri police station shortly thereafter.
Following the complaint, police conducted an investigation and recovered the stolen bike within five days. The two suspects were apprehended during this operation.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Dipankar and Kartik had been previously arrested by Bhakti Nagar police in a theft case and had recently been released on bail on August 20. Despite their recent release, they resumed criminal activities.
On Thursday, the police presented the accused in Siliguri court, requesting their remand. The investigation into the case is currently underway.
