Siliguri, 20th January: Two persons were killed after being struck by a train in the NJP area early this morning, creating a stir in the locality. The deceased have been identified as Bibhushan Mahato and Swapan Mahato
Reports suggest that both individuals worked as laborers at the Tea Park. They were reportedly under the influence of alcohol and were walking along the railway tracks near NJP Locoshed when they were hit by the Kanchanjungha Express.
After the incident, railway security personnel arrived at the scene and the bodies were sent to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. Railway police have launched an investigation into the incident.
