Siliguri, 13th May: In a horrifying incident, two youths have been accused of raping two sisters at the Ramnagar Colony area of Baribhasha in Siliguri. The accused have been identified as Pawan Adhikari and Bhola Shah, residents of the same area. A written complaint has already been lodged against the duo at the NJP police station. However, the duo is absconding since the incident.
Allegedly, the two accused youths lifted the two sisters from the road in front of their house on Tuesday evening, took them to a house and raped them. A written complaint was lodged at the NJP police station on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the younger sister fell ill on Thursday, following this, the police sent both the sisters to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for a medical examination.
Meanwhile, the locals demanded severe punishment for Pawan Adhikari and Bhola Shah and stated that they were frequently involved in anti-social activities. After the incident, the locals vandalized the houses of the accused.
According to police sources, a case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police are conducting searches in different areas to nab the duo.
