Two prime accused arrested in Dev Bhanu Bhuti murder case in Siliguri

Siliguri, 27th July: In a significant breakthrough, Khalpara Outpost police have arrested two prime accused in the Dev Bhanu Bhuti murder case. The accused, identified as Sintu Dey and Bappi Das, were apprehended from Kumartuli in Siliguri.


As per details received, Dev Bhanu Bhuti and Sintu Dey were close friends whose relationship had soured, leading to enmity. On Thursday night, Sintu Dey was near the newly constructed flyover at Jhankar More with his friends. During this, Dev Bhanu Bhuti was returning home in an e-rickshaw when Sintu and his accomplices allegedly assaulted him severely.

After the incident, Dev Bhanu Bhuti was admitted to Siliguri District Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following his death, Bhuti’s family filed a written complaint against the suspects at the Khalpara Outpost.


Acting on the complaint, police arrested Sintu Dey and Bappi Das on Friday night. Both suspects were produced in Siliguri court on Saturday, and their remand has been sought as the investigation continues.
