Two policemen killed in road accident in Islampur

Islampur, 1st January: Police ASI and a civic volunteer were killed in a road accident on Kanki National Highway 31 in North Dinajpur district. The deceased have been identified as Shafiul Islam and Kamrul Haque.
It is reported that the duo was stationed at Islampur police station. According to sources, ASI Shafiul Islam and Civic Volunteer Kamrul Haque were traveling in a vehicle when a lorry coming from the opposite direction rammed into them. Haque died on the spot while Islam was seriously injured.
The locals then rushed the ASI to Islampur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police recovered the bodies and sent them for post mortem and took the fatal lorry in their possession.
