Kharibari, 10th September: In a significant breakthrough, the police of Panitanki Outpost under Kharibari police station apprehended two Nepali nationals with 205 grams of brown sugar from New Mechi Market of Panitanki near the Indo-Nepal Border in Kharibari. The arrested accused have been identified as Pravin Majhi (21) and Ganga Prasad Magar (21).
According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, an operation was launched and a scooty (two-wheeler) bearing a Nepal registration number was seized. During the search, 205 grams of brown sugar and 9000 rupees in Nepali currency were recovered. Following this, both occupants of the two-wheeler were arrested by the police. On Monday, both accused will be produced before the Siliguri Divisional Court. At present, police are engaged in detailed investigation of the entire matter.
