Siliguri, 28th August: In a significant development, the Matigara police have arrested two additional individuals in connection with a brawl that erupted during a birthday party. The arrested suspects, Raja Sahani (25) from Bagrakote and Rahul Roy Chowdhury alias Kaushik (21) from Vidyasagar Colony in Siliguri’s Ward No. 07, were taken into custody following the violent altercation.
As per reports, the birthday party, hosted by Rohit Pathak on the night of August 21, included women guests. During the party, a group of individuals allegedly passed inappropriate comments at the women leading to a dispute between the two groups. The disagreement escalated into a physical brawl after which bouncers had to intervene to control the situation. Later, Pathak lodged a complaint with the Matigara police on August 22.
During the investigation, the police arrested two individuals, Dheeraj and Ujjwal, from the mall on the night of August 25. Subsequently, the names of Raja Sahani and Rahul Roy Chowdhury surfaced during the interrogation of the arrested accused. The two accused have been arrested for their involvement in the altercation and were presented in Siliguri court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the police are engaged in a further investigation to determine the involvement of other individuals.
