Rajganj, 07th July: In a tragic accident on their way home from work, two friends lost their lives while another was seriously injured. The incident occurred near the Sitaram Temple area on the Gajoldoba-Fulbari Canal Road. The deceased have been identified as Indrajit Roy (21) and Bappa Roy (19), both residents of the Menaghra area under Mantadari Gram Panchayat in Rajganj Block. The injured youth, Raju Roy (20) is a resident of the Gatebazar area of Mantadari.
According to reports, the three worked at a factory situated in the Sahudangi area. On Saturday at around 7:30 PM, they were returning home boarding a motorcycle after work. During this, the two-wheeler lost control on the Teesta Canal Road and fell onto the road and they were run over by an oncoming vehicle.
Consequently, Indrajit and Bappa died on the spot, while Raju suffered serious injuries. Locals rescued them and informed their families. Subsequently, the three were rushed to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), where doctors declared Indrajit and Bappa dead. Meanwhile, Raju remained hospitalized with severe injuries. The incident cast a shadow of grief over the entire area. The Ambari Outpost police have launched an investigation into the entire incident.
