Fulbari, 20th August: A heart-wrenching incident unfolds in Fulbari’s Canal Road where two individuals lost their lives in a fatal collision between a pickup van and a two-wheeler. The tragic incident took place, on Sunday, in the Chhobavita area in Fulbari along the Ambari Canal Road. The deceased have been identified as Ram Achal Gupta and Naina Agarwal, both residents of Siliguri.
According to reports, the deceased individuals were crossing the street on the scooty when a speeding pickup van travelling towards Fulbari collided. The encounter led to a major collision and both the individuals on the two-wheeler sustained critical injuries. Following this, the locals and the police rushed to their rescue and transported them to a private hospital in Fulbari, however, the woman succumbed to her injuries. Meanwhile, the man was shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) where the medical officials declared him dead.
The authorities of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station and the police of Nawapara traffic outpost hurried to the scene upon receiving the information and retrieved the two vehicles involved in the accident. At present, the entire incident is under police investigation.
