Siliguri, 24th January: A five-year-old child and his father were injured early this morning in Siliguri’s Hakimpara area, near Swamiji More, after being struck by a school bus. The injured are Arjun Hela, a worker in the sanitation department of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, and his child.
According to reports, Arjun Hela, a resident of Siliguri’s Ward 14, was riding a scooter with his five-year-old when the school bus, driving carelessly, hit them near Swamiji More. Consequently, both the child and the father were severely injured in the incident. The injured were quickly rushed to the Siliguri District Hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving news of the accident, the Panitanki Outpost police arrived at the scene, detained the bus driver, and seized the bus. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
