Two injured in clash between businessmen over mobile cover price in Siliguri

Siliguri, 31st August: A dispute over the price of a mobile phone cover escalated into violence, leaving two people injured near the Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus in Siliguri.


As per reports, the altercation occurred on Saturday when a hotel businessman, Ganesh Prasad Sah, accompanied by a relative, visited a mobile shop to purchase a phone cover.

The disagreement between the hotel businessman and the mobile shop owner, identified as Vishal, quickly intensified. Allegedly, Vishal called in several goons who then assaulted Sah and his relative. Both sustained injuries and were taken to Siliguri District Hospital, where they were treated and released after receiving first aid.


In response to the incident, the Junction Byabasayee Samiti, concerned about the increasing presence of goons, temporarily closed their shops in protest. Subsequently, police from Pradhan Nagar police station arrived at the scene, assuring a thorough investigation into the matter. Following this, the protesting businessmen reopened their shops.
