Fulbari, 17th September: A collision between two containers on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway left two people injured late last night. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the Radharbari area near Fulbari.
According to reports, one container was stationary due to a traffic jam on the highway when another container, traveling from Jalpaiguri, crashed into the back of the parked vehicle. The impact caused severe damage to the vehicles, leaving the driver and assistant driver trapped inside the twisted wreckage.
Upon receiving the information, New Jalpaiguri police and a fire brigade engine arrived at the scene. After an hour-long rescue operation, both the driver and the assistant driver were safely extricated and taken to a private hospital in Fulbari for treatment.
The police have recovered the container involved and launched an investigation into the incident.
