Two houses damaged by a herd of wild elephants in Kharibari

Kharibari, 01st December: Sensation prevailed after a herd of wild elephants entered the residential area in the 10-number line of Thanjhora Tea Estate in Kharibari’s Buraganj. The wild tuskers’ invasion left two houses damaged.


As per reports, on Friday morning, a herd of elephants entered the area from the Tukariajhar forest. Subsequently, during their invasion for food, the animals damaged two houses. In this regard, the locals claimed that the incident was reported to the forest department; however, the forest officials allegedly did not turn up on time.

Later, the forest officials from Ghoshpukur range arrived at the spot and initiated the safe movement of the herd of elephants to the forest.
