Siliguri, 06th April: The Detective Department of Siliguri Police Commissionerate launched operations near the Siliguri Eastern Bypass on Monday night and recovered two fresh bombs. Five people were arrested in the incident. The arrested accused have been identified as Sujit Sarkar, Babu Gurung, Gopal Biswas, Shankar Das, and Ganesh Mandal. All are residents of Siliguri and were involved in land trading.
Reportedly, the bombs will be defused. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
All five were brought to Bhaktinagar police station last night. Following this, they were sent to Jalpaiguri court today. The Siliguri police commissioner DP Singh is looking into the matter at the Bhaktinagar police station. However, he hesitated to say anything about the issue.
