Siliguri, 28th June: Two youths died after a tree fell on them near Sukna, on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Chhetri and Pranav Chhetri, both are residents of Sonada in Darjeeling.
Reportedly, today the duo had come to Siliguri on a scooty for work purpose. While returning home in the evening, a tree fell on them killing both the youths on the spot.
After this incident, traffic came to a standstill. Upon receiving the news, police personnel from Pradhan Nagar police station, Junction Traffic Guard, and Traffic ADCP Purnima Sherpa reached the spot. A fire brigade also reached the spot and recovered the bodies after removing the tree. Police are probing the entire incident.
